Hello everyone! Well summer in Alabama is alive and kicking! Hot and dry. Did I mention it was hot and dry? Well, it is hot and dry. It seems like we are going to have to prevail in prayer if we want any significant rain for the summer. Last year was a record drought for the entire southeast. Although we had a very wet spring, it seems as though the dry cycle is back. Yet, all the while, in the midwest, they are experiencing record setting floods. Over 1/3 of Iowa's corn producing land was under water! Yikes! Couple this with ever rising fuel, and fertilizer costs, and we should begin to experience dramatic price increases in food prices. I really believe God is shaking things. The Holy Spirit sheds light on this in (Hebrews 12:25-29)
"See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven, whose voice shook the earth; but now has promised, saying, "Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven." Now this, "Yet once more," indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. For our God is a consuming fire."
Through the shaking of things made, God is revealing to many where their real faith is. It is on the visible, temporal and earthly. God is going to continue to shake everything, until only the unshakeable things remain. What would that be? Well, first it isn't a "what" but a "who", and His name is Jesus, the Rock and Cornerstone of our faith. Let us not be moved through fear and doubt, our foundation is sure in Jesus Christ!
